Hermes key feature
-
100GbE line-rate capture with 128/96 Bytes frame (~110 Million packets per second), support for 64 Bytes frame capture at 100GbE depending on server hardware capabilities.

-
Native support for PCAP files, generated while capturing at 100GbE.

-
Hermes is built on top of DPDK, all the network cards supported by DPDK are inherently supported by Hermes

-
Real-time packet indexing, while capturing Hermes will generate index files for a quick query and extraction of data. Our performance tests are all executed with indexing enabled, disabling indexing increases the capture capability over 100GbE (If hardware permits).

-
Hardware timestamping is supported if the NIC provides the feature (Some network cards do not support hardware timestamping)

-
Hardware packet steering and flow control: Dropping, redirecting, filtering et cetera. Hermes implements the required low-level driver functionalities to support hardware flow control

-
Remote control and telemetry, Hermes comes with a remote CLI for management and telemetry collection

-
Support for InfluxDB time-series generation and alerting, data can be plotted on Grafana or similar.
